Incubator 1920x1080.png

The Moxie Incubator is a new program which supports three playwrights, three directors, and six line producers through an accelerated development process of three new plays.

Over the course of ten months, the twelve artists selected via an open submission will move through a three-step development process.

In Round One (January 2022), each script received a one-day virtual table read. In Round Two (April 2022), each script was produced as in-person staged reading after a weekend workshop.

Finally, in Round Three (July 2022), the three shows will be produced as part of the The Moxie Incubator Festival, a three week celebration of the work of the participating artists. Check back in August 2022 to find out when Incubator submissions will open for 2023!

Chaos at 26! Or Maybe It's Not So Bad is a one-woman exploration of the things we keep boxed away, the boxes we're put in by society, and boxes we check to make our dreams a reality.

Chaos at 26! was presented in repertory with Kervigo Ensemble Theatre's My Shiksa Boyfriend, and ran from October 8 - 30, 2021.

"When a worn and weathered flower child is faced with a fatal diagnosis, she battles through a web of memories, mania, and melancholy to untangle, thread by thread, the true meaning of relationship, family, and healing."

Three women, one life - Le Contraire De La Solitude (or, the opposite of lonely)  by K. Hernandez Friend explores one woman's journey of facing mortality head on, spanning memories over 3 decades.

Directed by Jessica Wu and co-produced by Bentwater Films, Pelo Ondulado Productions, and Jeanealogy Productions, this filmed one-act play held a free joint screening in New York City and San Antonio, TX on October 28th, 2021 at 7pm, presented jointly by Moxie Arts NY and Prime Produce Artist Cooperative.
